Verona, International Days of Choral Song, Competition and Festival in Verona, Italy

Verona, one of the most beautiful cities of art in the Veneto, has inspired many artists and writers for centuries. Shakespeare chose this setting for one of his most famous love stories, Romeo and Juliet. But Verona is also worth a visit for its impressive remains from Roman times. The Arena is one example… It is in this magnificent place that the choirs will perform the common songs to close the event. Take part in the Verona Choral Competition and share your emotions in front of a jury in order to win a beautiful medal! Take the opportunity to visit Venice and the region.

Program 5 days / 4 nights

30.03.2022 to 03.04.2022

Day 1 – Verona – Garda Lake South part

Arrival in the South of Garda Lake, welcome by your local assistance and accommodation in your bedrooms.

Dinnertime at hotel.

Evening, transfer to Verona for the Opening Ceremony with Concert.

You will need a coach for this transfer go and return.

Back to hotel. Overnight.

Day 2 – Gara Lake – Verona or excursion – Gara Lake

Breakfast at hotel.
(*) Group A: morning, beginning of the competition in a hall in Verona. (Bus required)
Lunch at leisure.
Afternoon, guided walking tour of Verona by your assistant. Please note that this is not a certified guide (possibility of a guided walking tour of Verona). You will discover its squares, its alleys, its churches, Juliet’s house and its famous balcony, Castel Vecchio, the Arena.
Return to the hotel for dinner.
Free evening and overnight at hotel.

(*) Groupe B : fullday free excursion on the Garda Lake (Without assistance). This is an opportunity to plan an optional excursion to Venice, Parma, Bergamo or Trento.
Lunch at leisure.
Free dinner and evening at leisure.
Night at the hotel.

Day 3 – Garda Lake – Verona or excursion – Gara Lake

Breakfast at the hotel.
(*) Group A: Free day excursion. Lunch and dinner at leisure. Night at the hotel.
(*) Group B: In the morning, continuation of the competition. Lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, guided walking tour of Verona by your guide.
Return to the hotel for dinner.
Evening free and overnight at hotel

Day 4 – Garda Lake – Verona – Garda Lake

Breakfast at hotel.
In the morning, reception at the Town Hall for the choir conductors in the presence of the Mayor of Verona and city officials.
Afternoon, closing ceremony with awards and diplomas (for all) in Verona.
At the end of the ceremony, procession of the choristers to the Arena where the festival will end with the three common songs “Va Pensiero” by G. Verdi, “Ode to Joy” by L. van Beethoven and “Amazing Grace” by J. Newton.
Return to the hotel on Lake Garda for dinner.
Meeting/Friendly concert with a local choir in a nearby village to sing together and share a glass of friendship.
These meetings are convivial and much appreciated by the choir members, but they can end late.

A local bus can be booked.
Back to Garda Lake. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 – Garda Lake – Back home

Breakfast at hotel. Check-out and back home.

(*) Groups A and B are defined by the organisers according to the category in which the choirs are registered.
