Alta Pusteria, 25th International Choral Festival in Sud Tyrol, Italy

The International Choral Festival “Alta Pusteria” is held every year in June in the beautiful Val Pusteria. Choirs from all over the world will gather in June 2022 for the 25th edition of this Festival to share their passion for music in beautiful concert venues located in the Val Pusteria, between Bruneck (Italy) and Sillian (Austria), facing the impressive mountains of South Tyrol. The Festival is open to all non-professional groups and offers up to 6 performances (concerts in theatres, auditoriums, churches in several small towns of the Val Pusteria as well as a performance in the open air concert in the heart of the Dolomites)

Each choir has the possibility to sing in 3 to 6 concerts. The repertoire is free, there is no set piece and all periods and musical styles are accepted.
In addition, you will be able to hear the other groups in several concerts.

Program 5 days / 4 nights

15/06/2022 to 19/06/2022

Day 1 – SUD TYROL – Opening Ceremony

Arrivan in the Val Pusteria and accommodation at hotel.

Meet your assistance (English speaking).

Dinner at hotel.

Evening, Official Opening Ceremonywith the Opening Concert in the Gustave Mahler Hall in Dobbiaco.

Back hotel and Overnight.

Day 2 – SUD TYROL – Welcome party

Breakfast.

Morning, “Welcome Party” at the top of the Plan de Corones: all choirs meet at an altitude of 2275 metres.

Day subject to the Festival programme. Possibility to sing at least once (concert, outdoor or meeting of the day)

Free lunch.

Afternoon: concerts.

Dinner at the hotel.

Evening: concert.

Return and overnight at hotel.

Day 3 – SUD TYROL – Dolomites or Lago di Braies – Concerts and Tyrolean evening in Villabrassa

Breakfast.

Day according to the choir’s programme.

Morning, open-air concerts in the Alpine huts.

Lunch at leisure.

Afternoon, continuation of the concerts.

Dinner at the hotel.

Evening: concerts.

Free participation in one of the three evenings planned in Brunico (Brunico In…Cantata), in San Candido (Un Brindisi con il Baranci) and in Villabossa (Feste Tirolese)

During this evening, Tyrolean folklore performances will be given by local groups.

Return at hotel and overnight at hotel.

Day 4 – SUD TYROL – Dolomites or Lago di Braies – San Candido

Breakfast.

Day according to the choir’s programme. Participation in at least 1 performance.

Morning: concerts.

Lunch on your own.

In the afternoon, choir parade in San Candido. The parade is the most spectacular moment of this event: all the participating choirs will parade in their respective costumes through the streets of the city. They will all meet in Piazza del Magistrato in the centre of San Candido to receive the thanks of the city’s officials. The parade ends with a common song.

Typical Tyrolean dinner at hotel.

In the evening: concerts.

Then it’s the “night of the choirs” with concerts in several squares in Val Pusteria.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 : SUD TYROL – Back home

Breakfast.
Morning: « Festa dell’Arrivederci » in Sesto.

Meeting of all participating choirs at the Festival in Casa Sesto for the closing ceremony. Each choir will receive a certificate of participation.

Closing of the Festival and departure of the choirs.

Free lunch: reservation on request.

End of services and Backhome.

Standard programme, subject to change according to the needs of the organisation.

A coach is required for travel.
