Verona: International Choir Singing Competition and Festival

Verona, one of the most beautiful Venetian art cities has inspired many artists and writers for centuries. Shakespeare chose it as the setting for one of the most famous love stories, Romeo and Juliet. But Verona is also worthy of a visit to see its impressive artefacts left from the Roman era. The arenas are a great example … and it will be in a beautiful old roman arena that the choirs will sing the common songs to close the event. Start the Venetian adventure with the choir Competition in Verona and share your passion with the jury as you aim for the Winner’s Medal!

Program 5 days / 4 nights

Day 1 – VERONA

At your arrival south of Lake Garda, welcome by a local speaking French host and check in to your hotel.
Dinner at the hotel.
End of afternoon: opening ceremony concert in a concert hall in Verona. (Coach required)
Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 – VERONA

Breakfast at the hotel.
(*) Group A: In the morning, the competition begins in a room in Verona. (Coach required)
Free time for lunch.
In the afternoon, guided tour in Verona by your assistance. Please note that this is not a qualified guide (possibility of guided walking tour of Verona: see supplement – 2h00). You will discover its squares, its alleys, its churches, the house of Juliette and its famous balcony, Castel Vecchio, the bullring.
Return to the hotel for dinner.
Free evening and night at the hotel.

(*) Group B: Free day excursion on Lake Garda (WITHOUT assistance). This is an opportunity to schedule an optional excursion to Venice, Parma, Bergamo or Trento: see supplements.
Free time for lunch.
Free time for dinner and free evening.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 – VERONA

Breakfast at the hotel.
(*) Group A: Free excursion day. Lunch and dinner free time. Overnight at the hotel.
(*) Group B: In the morning, following the competition. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, guided tour in Verona by your assistance. Please note that this is not a qualified guide (possibility of guided walking tour of Verona: see supplement – 2h00). You will discover its squares, its alleys, its churches, the house of Juliette and its famous balcony, Castel Vecchio, the bullring.
Return to the hotel for dinner.
Free evening and night at the hotel.

Day 4 – VERONA

Breakfast at the hotel
Morning: reception at the Town Hall for all the choirmasters in the presence of the Mayor of the city of Verona and representatives of the city.
Then a closing ceremony with awards for everyone in Verona.
Followed by a light snack on one of the piazzas with all the choirs, then walk towards the Arena where the festival ends with the three communal songs.
Return to the hotel for dinner.
Meeting / concert with a local choir in a nearby village to sing together over a glass of friendship.
These meetings are convivial and much appreciated by the choristers but they can finish late. A local coach can be booked: see supplement.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 – VERONA – Back home

Departure from the hotel after breakfast.
