Nice : 14th International Choir Festival

Place: Cathedral SAINTE-REPARATE (Old Nice)
Artistic director: Albert Tosan
Participants: Amateur choirs of all levels (adults, children and young people, mixed choirs, Female choirs and Men choirs)
Musical style : Classical music, preferably religious / gospel for the Cathedral
Common choir song: “Canticorum Jubilo” ( from Josua) – G.F. Handel

Program 4  days / 3 nights

Day 1 – NICE

Arrival at the end of the day and check in to your rooms at a city center hotel.
End of the afternoon: Opening of the Festival (100 singers expected)
In the evening, optional dinner, free time for a walk on the famous “Promenade des Anglais” which borders the bay of Angels.

Day 2 – NICE

Breakfast at hotel.
Morning: Meeting at the hotel with a guide for a panoramic tour (with your coach) from Nice or walking tour, ending in the Old Nice: along the “Promenade des Anglais” seeing monuments from the “Belle Epoque”, such as the prestigious Hotel Negresco, the Orthodox Church, the Cimiez district with the Franciscan church and the Rosary, the archaeological site of the Roman Arena and the Matisse Museum. Many colourful houses, narrow streets and town squares, the Holy Church and the famous flower market.
Free time for lunch.
Beginning of afternoon: excursion to Eze provided by Fragonard Perfumery factory (local coach included). You will be able to make purchases; Return by local bus shuttle in Nice (Duration: about 2h30).
Back to Nice by mid-afternoon.

We invite you to visit the Palais Lascaris, a museum of musical instruments located in Old Nice (Entrance NOT included, it cost 10 € in 2015: please consult us for admission and for a qualified guide,a ticket is valid for 48 hours).
In the evening, dinner is optional.
Evening: friendly concert with a local choir in a church in Nice, followed by a welcome drink.
Back to your hotel.

Day 3 – NICE

Breakfast at hotel.
Morning and free time for lunch.
From 2 pm: Festival of Choral Singing, in the presence of Albert Tosan, Head of Choir of the Voices of Nice. The participating choirs sing in the beautiful Baroque Sainte Réparate Cathedral (Duration: 20 minutes for each choir including the rise on stage and the descent) in front of the public of Nice.
The festival ends with the common song “Canticorum Jubilo” (Handel) and the graduation ceremony.
In the evening, from 20:00 to 23:00: closing dinner for all participants in a typical restaurant with Niçoise cuisine.

Days 4 – NICE – Back home

Breakfast at hotel.

Morning, participation in a Mass servie (on request).

End of your stay and back home.
