International Slovakia Cantat Competition & Festival in Bratislava, Slovakia

Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia located on the Danube, is a beautiful city influenced by many nationalities (Slavic, Hungarian, Austrian, German…) throughout its history. Thanks to its multicultural character, the city has many places of culture, including its famous philharmonic. The old town is full of very different styles with its medieval buildings, Art Nouveau and modern buildings as well as baroque palaces.

Slovakia Cantat Competition & Festival, allows choirs to visit Bratislava in the spring while presenting their programmes. Open to all categories of choirs, Slovakia Cantat allows all groups to perform in prestigious venues such as the Jesuit Church, the Moyzes Concert Hall or the Klarisky Music Hall.

Program 4 days / 3 nights

21/04/2022 to 24/04/2022

Day 1  – Thursday

Arrival by your own means in Bratislava and installation in your rooms.

Meeting with your local guide.

Individual workshops for vocal ensembles (on request and at extra cost).

In the evening, opening concert of the festival at the Jesuit Church of St. Sauveur in the old town.

Each choir is invited to present a programme of sacred music a capella or accompanied by piano (duration 5 minutes).

Dinner at restaurant. Accommodation.

Day 2 – Friday

Breakfast.

In the morning, guided tour of Bratislava.

Lunch at leisure.

In the afternoon, beginning of the “Slovakia Cantat” competition in the Moyzes Concert Hall (all categories, 15-minute performance – free choice of programme).

In the evening, concert at the Klarisky Music Hall in the old town (15-minute performance – free choice of programme).

Dinner in a restaurant. Overnight.

Day 3 – Saturday

Breakfast at hotel.

In the morning, concert at the Klarisky Music Hall.

Lunch at leisure.

Afternoon free.

In the evening, closing ceremony with awards. The choirs in the Festival section will receive certificates of participation.

Dinner in a restaurant. Overnight.

Day 4 – Sunday – Back home

Breakfast at hotel.

In the morning, possibility to participate in a mass (on request).

End of our services and back home.

The programme can be modified for any need necessary for the organisation of the event.

Extension of stay on site and additional visits possible: on request.

Return journey (Vienna or other): on request.
