International Advent Choral Festival VIENNA – AUSTRIA 2023

PROGRAMME

Thursday   VIENNA

Arrival of choirs in Vienna. Welcome at arrival. Dinner at hotel or close to. Overnight stay.

 

Friday    VIENNA

Breakfast.

Morning, walking guided visite of Vienna (Local coach transfers NOT included).

Lunchtime at Restaurant “Rathauskeller” located in the Town Hall of Vienna city.

Possibility to give a concert in a retirement home in the afternoon (if you wish).

Free evening in Vienna: you can visit one of the many traditional outdoor Christmas markets.

Dinner at leisure. Overnight stay.

 

Saturday   VIENNA

Breakfast.

Free morning to explore Vienna or do some Christmas shopping.

Lunch at leisure.

The Festival Concerts begin in the Vienna City Hall in the afternoon, where choirs of different nationalities will present their own programme (duration: 3 minutes in total per choir) and share their music with the Viennese public.

In the evening, transfer by your own means outside Vienna (coach required): Dinner in a traditional Heurigen (wine tavern) in the wine village of Gumpoldskirchen near Vienna (including a typical dish of sausages, pork, chicken, Sauerkraut, cold salads, bread and ONE glass of wine per person)

Back to hotel per your own. Overnight stay.

Please note: a coach is required for the evening in Gumpoldskirchen.

 

Sunday    VIENNA

Breakfast.

You can attend a Mass or Worship in the morning in one of the churches/temples of Vienna (if you wish).

Free time in the afternoon – possibility to listen to other choirs in the City Hall.

Dinner at leisure.

Closing evening in the Vienna City Hall for all choirs during which the certificates of participation will be handed over to each conductor. Afterwards, all choirs will join together to sing the common song “Ode to Joy”.

The evening ends with a small buffet (canapés and a glass of sparkling wine)

Return to your hotel by your own means. Overnight stay.

 

Monday  – Back home by your own

Breakfast. End of our services.

►The Vienna Woods with a stop at Mayerling and a visit to Heiligenkreuz Abbey
