Choir-Mixte de Bulle (Switzerland)

The singers of the Chœur-Mixte de Bulle (Switzerland), as well as their director, Ms. Anne Steulet Brown, had the greatest pleasure to participate in the first edition of the Antwerp Choral Festival, from May 1 to 4 2014. It was for the choir as a whole but also for each and every choir member a most enriching musical and human experience. We discovered a wonderful city: we admired its squares, its immense cathedral, its majestic station. We tasted quality meals accompanied by good Belgian beers. We appreciated the sumptuous setting that the Saint-Charles-Borromée Church offered to this event as well as the diversity of the participating choirs and the works presented. We were delighted to see the large and attentive audience who followed the various performances. The closing ceremony was a great and very successful celebration, with beautiful exchanges between the choirs, especially when the Zurich and Russian choristers sang with us “The old chalet” or when we joined the choir of young Germans for a prayer. to the virgin of Rachmaninoff helped by Russian choristers. A highlight of the Festival! Attending a mass in a multicultural district of Antwerp was a very moving experience. The parishioners received us very warmly and very generously. There too, a beautiful moment of sharing, despite the language barriers. Finally, we would like to congratulate you on the perfect organization of this meeting: a well-balanced program between the parts devoted to singing and those dedicated to the discovery of Antwerp and Bruges; reception and support by efficient, competent and friendly guides, both for the services and for the tourist part; quality hotel in a good location; adequate documentation on the city of Antwerp. We extend our best wishes for the success of future editions of the Antwerp Choral Festival. We will be sure to advertise to choirs in our region.
