4th edition of Spring Choral Festival in Costa Brava, Catalonia, Spain

This festival will be held the weekend after Easter: it celebrates one of the most sincere and participatory religious festivals in Spain, in a cordial atmosphere and open to other cultures, experiences and different traditions.

Costa Brava will welcom you with its beautiful landscapes, its medieval cities, its castles and fortifications, Barcelona, Montserrat, Gerona. All choral groups, religious choirs, gospel choirs, alpine choirs, traditional music choirs, folk choirs, women’s choirs, men’s choirs, children’s choirs, mixed choirs, etc. are invited to register. 

Each choir can perform in its own style while respecting the concert venues that are Catholic churches; the list of songs can therefore include sacred songs, Easter songs and also gospel. The length of each performance will be determined by the number of choirs participating in the festival.

Expected repertoire: traditional sacred and popular music (in accordance with the characteristics of the choirs). You can sing a cappella or with musical instruments (piano, guitar, etc.), and each choir is free to choose its own program.

Programme of festival:
Friday – COSTA BRAVA
Arrival of choirs and accommation at hotel (arrival duly recommended before 1:00pm). Buffet dinner at hotel. Evening: Opening concert of festival including local choirs. Overnight at hotel.

 

Saturday   COSTA BRAVA
Breakfast at hotel. Free morning or facultative excursion in one of the nice locations of the area (Ask us for information). Buffet lunchtime. Evening: 2nd concert of festival in one a church with local choirs. Free dinnertime. Overnight at hotel.

 

Sunday    COSTA BRAVA

Breakfast at hotel. Free morning or facultative excursion in one of the nice locations of the area (Ask us for information) Barcelona, Gerona, Tossa de Mar (ask us for information). Buffet breakfast at hotel. Evnening: Closing concert of festival in one church in the area with local choirs. Free dinnertime. Overnight at hotel.

 

Monday   COSTA BRAVA – Back home
Breakfast at hotel. End of services and departure of choirs.

 

Possibility of extending your stay with an arrival one day before beginning of festival.

The program is subject to change according to the organization’s needs. The final program, including the duration of each group’s singing, will depend on the precise number of participating choirs, including the Spanish choirs.
