International Choral & Music Festival in Montecatini Terme, Italy

For several years now, the Montecatini Terme festival in Tuscany has welcomed not only amateur choirs but also for musical groups. The organisers wanted to give this festival a new lease of life by bringing together choirs and musical groups. Every choir returning back home from this festival is delighted to have partipated in.

You will sing and meet groups from other countries during several concerts bringing all the choirs outside. To open the festival, you will march in a parade on the first evening. To close the festival, you will share a festive dinner bringing together all the choirs and you will receive a participation certificate as well as a commemorative plaque.

Get ready for this friendly festival that will ensure singing exchanges between participants thanks to various concerts!

Programme 4 days/3 nigths

Thursday – Montecatini Terme/Tuscany

At your arrival in Montecatini Terme, welcome by your local assistance at the entrance of the city. Accommodation in your bedrooms. Dinner at hotel (Drinks NOT included). Evening, official opening of the Festival: departure from hotel for a torchlight procession. Welcome by the official representatives of the city of Montecatini Terme and the organisers of the Festival. Back to hotel on foot. Overnight.

 

Friday – Montecatini Terme 

Breakfast at hotel. Morning, meet your local assistance at hotel. Concert gathering all choirs and musical groups in the kiosque of the Thermal Tettucio Garden.  (15 minutes each groupe including stage entrance and exit – piano available on stage)

Free lunchtime. Afternoon, free time for an optionnal excursion to PISA or  LUCCA (Both cannot be explored on same day) with a guided tour in option (in option and with supplement)

Dinner at hotel (Drinkss NOT included). Evening, outside concert in Piazza del Poppolo in Montecatini (15 minutes per group – keyboard available). Overnight.

 

Saturday – Montecatini Terme

Breakfast at hotel. Morning, meet your local assistance at hotel. Concert for all choirs and musical groups organised in the kiosque of the Thermal Tettucio Garden (15 minutes each including stage entrance and exit – piano available on stage). Free luchtime.

Possibility of spending a day excursion (by coach or train) in Florence, pearl of the Renaissance. Guided walking tour (with a local guide): the “Duomo” Square with its cathedral in white, green and pink marble, the Baptistery and its three bronze doors, Giotto’s Caloabuken the Signoria Square, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Ponte Vecchio… (Guided tour: approximatively 2.5 hours – with supplement and by reservation). In the afternoon, return to Montecatini in the late afternoon.

Evening, a closing ceremony will be held for all the choirs and musical groups, including dinner in a typical Montecatini restaurant, in the presence of city officials. Each group will be presented and wil lreceive a certificate of participation and a commemorative plaque. At the end of the evening, the choirs will sing “O Signore dat tetto natio” by G. Verdi. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Sunday – Back home

Departure after breakfast. Possibility of participating in Mass in the morning in a church in Montecatini. End of festival and back home.
