Florence: Choral Competition & Festival

The Festival and Competition takes place in the beautiful city of Florence, known throughout the world for its history, culture and artistic heritage. Its pleasant climate, welcoming nature and gastronomical delights will enchant you. The 3rd edition of the Festival and International Competition of Florence will take place in the most prestigious locations around this historical city: the Auditorium of San Stefano al Ponte Vecchio, the Salone dei Cinquecento, the magnificent Santa Croce Basilicas and Santa Trinita. This event allows you to spend some wonderful days celebrating Friendship, Music and different Cultures from around the world. If you wish to extend your stay, we recommend you visit the surrounding areas of Florence such as Fiesole, Siena, San Gimignano, Chianti, Pisa and Arrezzo.

Categories: each choir or ensemble will perform 3 songs.
The total duration of the performance must be between 9 and 15 minutes.

 

Program 4  days / 3 nights

Day 1 – FLORENCE

Arrival on your own in Florence
Welcome by local host at the airport, train station or directly at the hotel.
Dinner (3 course menu, excluding drinks)
Accommodation at hotel.

Day 2 – FLORENCE

Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning: guided tour of Florence (about 2 hours).
Free lunch.
Afternoon: opening ceremony at the Palazzo Vecchio in the Salone dei Cinquecento. Maximum duration of 6 minutes per choir.
Dinner at the restaurant (3-course menu, excluding drinks) in the historic centre.
Evening: concert in the Basilica of San Lorenzo and concert in the Orsanmichele Church.
Accommodation at the hotel.

 

Day 3 – FLORENCE

Breakfast at the hotel.
From 10:00 to 18:00: competition organized in the Auditorium of Santo Stefano at Ponte Vecchio. Performance of 3 songs minimum for each category for a maximum duration of 15 minutes. The choice of songs must reach the organizers at the end of June 2017.
Free lunch.
Evening: concert in the Basilica of San Lorenzo and in the Basilica Santa Trinità. Maximum duration per choir of 15-20 minutes (dependant on the number of participating choirs)
Free time for Dinner.
Accommodation at the hotel.

 

Day 3 – FLORENCE – Back home

Breakfast at the hotel.

Check-out. Back home or extension.
